Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers play an important role in helping The Arc of Shelby County fulfill its mission of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities and delays and their families.
Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year and can be tailored to a variety of interests and skill sets. Opportunities include:
- Administrative and office support
- Building and interior maintenance projects
- Assisting at New Visions events and activities
- Supporting participants and staff on community trips and tours
- Creating and hosting parties, themed events, games, or activities for New Visions participants
- Helping with fundraising and community events
The Arc of Shelby County also relies on volunteers for many of our programs and special events, including:
- Fundraising events throughout the year
- Monthly Tales for Tots Storytime events
- Quarterly REACT social and recreational events
- Parent workshops and educational programs
We welcome individuals, families, civic organizations, churches, schools, and corporate groups who are looking to make a meaningful impact in our community. Whether you can volunteer once or on a recurring basis, your time and talents help create opportunities for the individuals and families we serve.
If you are interested in serving as a volunteer, please fill out our volunteer application and you will be contacted. If you would like to volunteer as a group or for a service project with a team of volunteers, please contact: Carole.Lyons@thearcofshelby.org, 205-664-9313
